Mardi Gras

Mardi Gras Celebration (2/20/09-2/22/09)

Laissez le bon temps rouler! Let the Good times Roll!

Thank you for Celebrating Mardi Gras downtown in 2009 February 20-22!  Downtown Rehoboth restaurants hosted  Mardi Gras in February featuring New Orleans-inspired cuisine and Cajun cooking, Bourbon Street beverages, Mardi Gras Partieslive music and beads, beads, beads!  Restaurants and stores helped raise money to send to their favorite charity.

Everywhere beads, beads, beads!  Mardi Gras parties lasted all weekend!

The Inaugural Chef Showdown took place Saturday from 11am-2pm at CAMP Rehoboth, 37 Baltimore Avenue:
Rehoboth Met Mardi Gras
A SOLD OUT EVENT!

Culinary competition featured Jay Caputo (Espuma, Porcini House); Ian Crandall (Kindle); Kevin Reading (Nage). Judges Trish Vernon, editor and co-founder of The CapeGazette; Matt Amis, Assistant Editor of Delaware Today and Managing Editor of the food section Savor; and peoples’ choice judge Tom McGlone announced that Chef Caputo had won by a slim but crucial margin.

There was music, oysters, beignets, etouffee, cash bar, door prizes and silent auction.  The event benefited Rehoboth Main Street,
CAMPRehoboth and Center for the Inland Bays.
