Accepting Gift Certificates
Main Street Gift Certificates bring customers downtown. Since starting the program in 2004, Main Street has sold thousands of dollars worth of downtown gift certificates, to be redeemed at Main Street member businesses. This program is designed specifically to bring business downtown instead of to the highway.
How does this work for my business? Downtown gift certificates are sold in increments of $25, at several downtown locations, on the Main Street web site and at the Main Street office. Businesses train all of their employees to accept the certificates like just like cash giving back change where needed. Note that certificates are purposely sold only in $25 denominations so large sums will not be needed for change. If someone wants a $100 gift, they will buy four $25 certificates.
When receiving one or more certificates, your business can either bring the certificates to the Main Street office, send them in for reimbursement or call Main Street at 227-2772 and staff member will come up to get them! Businesses are reimbursed 100% immediately by check and prior arrangements can be made for cash reimbursements.
